Some Random Tuesday in February

Some Random Tuesday in February

Some random Tuesday in February the whole world as you know it can flip upside down. Every truth you believed, dashed. Everything foundational, turned to rubble. How do I know? It’s happened to me.

A sudden revelation you never expected to learn.

A new symptom that will lead to weeks, months, years of uncovering a terminal diagnosis.

An accident that wipes the dearest and nearest off the planet and rips them out of your circle while destroying your heart and every sense of security you ever knew.

A random Tuesday in February can -and does- literally turn heaven into hell and upends all that felt good and right in the world.

Left there is an artist with a whole new pallet and a blank canvas with which they must recreate themselves, refashion all their beliefs, relearn their relationships, and reexamine their perception of goodness and truth.

Like an unborn infant trying to find its way through the birth canal into the world unknown, is this person on a random Wednesday in February as they begin, anew, a story and chapter they never expected.

Fresh eyes take a while to lose their scales (sometimes called grief) and sometimes vision remains forever looking through these new colored lenses. Sometimes the new colors brighten over time as the sting of the pain dulls…and sometimes the beholden cling to the shades of gray…and charcoal…and black… just to remember what brought them to this place.

Be this not just a litany of woes and warnings, but let it be an admonition to cherish a little more the random Monday in February for its mundane existence…its status quo, its simple wonder – because life happens on a random Tuesday in February and nothing is ever the same again.
